Summer festivals in Montreal


Amusic festival of all genres held on Île Jean Drapeau and accessible by metro! It takes place over three days and normally at the end of July - beginning of August.

Mural Festival

Electronic music evenings held every Sunday from May to September (Ile Jean Drapeau).

The DJs change every week. There are also several food trucks and mobile bars.

Montreal Jazz Festival

A festival featuring jazz that normally takes place between June and July at Place des Arts in Montreal.

Some shows and activities are free of charge and others are not.

The Francofolies

Music festival featuring French-speaking artists.

This festival normally takes place in mid-June in Montreal.

Quebec City Summer Festival

An 11-daymusic festival in Quebec City.

The various stages are located on the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City and the festival normally takes place in mid-July (about 2 hours drive from Montreal).

Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival

Festival held in early September with music shows, funfair games and hot air balloon flights in Gatineau (about 2.5 hours from Montreal).

International Hot Air Balloon Festival (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu)

This 9-day event takes place in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu in mid-August. There is music, rides, hot air balloons, food trucks, etc. (About 1 hour from Montreal).

Loto Quebec International Fireworks

The Montreal International Fireworks Competition is known as L'International des Feux Loto-Québec.

It is in fact the most prestigious competition of its kind in the world. It is possible to attend the shows at La Ronde amusement park located on Île Jean Drapeau.


Lasso Festival

Country festival held at Parc Jean Drapeau, the first edition takes place in Summer 2022 and continues every year. The 2023 edition takes place on August 18 and 19.

Heavy Montreal Festival

Rockand Heavy Metalmusic festivaltaking place on Ile Jean Drapeau.

Metro Metro Festival

Montreal Hip-Hop Festival at the Olympic Centre esplanade.

The festival takes place around May 20.

World Beer Festival

It is the largest international beer festival in America (over 100 breweries present and over 400 products to discover).

It takes place in May at Montreal's Windsor Station and at the Rio Tinto yard (Lucien L'Allier and Bonaventure metro stations).

Bières et Saveurs de Chambly

One of the most important craft beer festivals in Quebec. It brings together nearly 70 microbreweries, conferences, workshops as well as music and comedy shows.

It takes place in September at the Parc du fort de Chambly (about 45 minutes from Montreal).
